In 2020, a simple question changed everything: why should something as essential as menstrual hygiene come with compromises?
As an educator, I was leading a workshop in a small town outside Chandigarh when I discovered something that stayed with me. A group of teenage girls were discussing their periods, perhaps for the first time openly. But what caught my attention wasn’t their hesitation to talk. It was the pads they carried in their bags.
I began asking questions. What were these pads made of? How were they manufactured? What did girls actually experience when they used them for hours?
The more I learned, the more I felt that menstrual care deserved a closer look.
What began as a conversation turned into two years of research.
I visited manufacturing facilities, spoke with manufacturers and gynaecologists, and listened to girls share their everyday experiences. I wanted to understand menstrual hygiene beyond packaging, marketing and assumptions.
If we have the ability to create something better, why settle for what has always been available?
Instead of building a factory from scratch, we chose to work with a manufacturing partner and develop pads according to our own specifications. We focused on the details that mattered to us: material selection, comfort, breathability, absorption and hygiene practices.
That journey became the foundation of Noparvah.
We set out to create menstrual pads with thoughtful material choices and carefully defined manufacturing requirements. These are not simply features on a product sheet – they represent the questions we asked, the standards we explored and the responsibility we believe comes with creating menstrual hygiene products.
We believe women and girls deserve access to products that are thoughtfully designed, responsibly manufactured and transparent about their quality.
Most of what we learned in those two years came down to two problems: what pads were made of, and where they were made. Our specification exists to answer both.
Soft wood-pulp top sheet, designed for comfort and gentle skin contact, offering a thoughtful alternative to the chlorine-bleached materials commonly used in affordable pads.
A breathable bottom layer, designed for hours of wear without irritation.
Japanese gel technology for absorption.
UV sterilization before packaging ,a step we insisted on after seeing the manufacturing conditions pads are commonly produced in.
No added synthetic fragrance or dyes.
Batch testing through laboratories, with NABL certification as specified for our testing process.
These aren't marketing bullet points , each one traces back to something we saw firsthand during two years of research.
In 2022, Noparvah was launched in Chandigarh. Our name reflects the spirit we want to encourage – a world where menstruation is not surrounded by embarrassment, silence or unnecessary compromise.
The name itself means No Worries. And that’s exactly what we stand for, creating a world where women don’t have to whisper about their basic needs, whether in a school, a workplace, or a factory.
From sanitary pads to menstrual hygiene awareness, vending solutions and responsible disposal, our vision extends beyond a single product. We want to contribute to an ecosystem where dignity, accessibility and sustainability matter.
This is the story of why Noparvah exists, told the way it happened , one workshop, one question, and two years of refusing to accept "that's just how it is."
"Would I feel comfortable handing this pad to any girl - rural or urban - and telling her, this is what normal should feel like?"
That girl may never know how much her experience influenced our journey. But she represents every girl and woman who deserves to manage her period with comfort, dignity and confidence.
That is why we started Noparvah. That is why we continue to learn. And that is why our work is far from finished.
Designed with care. Driven by dignity. Built for a better tomorrow.
